INTERVIT Company was established in 1992. We are located in Kiev. The Company office and production facilities are located on the territory of Institute for Problems of Materials Science of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

As of today the Company has more than 50 employees.

INTERVIT Company (Kiev, Ukraine) specializes in manufacturing of cutting tools based on cubic boron nitride (CBN), polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and mineral ceramics (oxide ceramics, nitride ceramics, oxynitride ceramics Al2O3 + TiCN, Si3N4), including:

Cutting tool of CBN/PCD/ceramics for machining of cemented carbides (for example, tungsten carbide WC+Co, Co>10 %)

Cutting tool of CBN/PCD/ceramics for machining of chromium cast iron and chilled cast iron

Cutting tool of CBN/PCD/ceramics for machining of alloy steels (for example, manganese steel 110G13L)

Our manufacturing capabilities make it possible to produce cutting inserts (plates) of CBN/PCD/ceramics of approximately diameter 3 to 30mm both according to ISO 1832-85 (GOST 28762-90, GOST 19042-80) and in customized special forms.
Typically in practice we recommend that Customers use inserts of CBN in RNMN and RCGX configurations, and cutting inserts of PCD in special non-standard forms for a specific task.

Also INTERVIT Company produces a full set of auxiliary equipment for plates of CBN/PCD/ ceramics, namely:

  • – Arbors, tool holders (for example, CRDNN 4040S19);
  • – Carbide substrates;
  • – Chip breakers;

– and lunettes, supports and other customized products.

We offer not only a tool of CBN/PCD and all the necessary equipment, but also guarantee the comprehensive consulting support at all stages of implementation of our cutting tools of CBN/PCD in Customer production conditions.

The main advantage in use of cutting tool on the base of superhard materials is a significant increase of metal removal per time unit. This significantly increases the speed of mechanical processing, and conversely decreases feed.

 The advantages of polycrystalline diamond PCD as a tool material are the following:

  • – The highest hardness (diamond is the hardest material in the world);
  • – Excellent wear resistance;
  • – Good thermal conductivity;
  • – Suitable for high-speed processing;
  • – Properties of the material and shape of the tool can be changed according to a Customer specific task.

Most of all PCD cutting tools are recommended to use for processing of non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials (cemented carbides, aluminum, copper, wood, plastics, composite materials).

The advantages of cubic boron nitride CBN as a tool material are the following:

  • – Very high hardness (the second in the world after diamond);
  • – Excellent wear resistance;
  • – Good chemical and thermal stability;
  • – Suitable for high-speed processing;
  • – Properties of the material and shape of the tool can be changed according to a Customer specific task.

CBN cutting tools are usually recommended to use for processing of ferrous metals (difficult-to-cut cast iron, steel alloys, cemented carbides, composite materials).
